Seda’s Elen Roberts has been successful with her application to complete a Master of Science (MSc) in Pharmaceutical Industry Advanced Training (PIAT) at the University of Manchester, as a distance learning part-time course commencing September 2021. Throughout the course, Elen will focus on modules surrounding formulation design and development, allowing her to apply this knowledge in her current role as a pharmaceutical scientist and further improving her ability to make informed decisions and problem solve in day-to-day project work. This will contribute to the overall successful delivery of Client projects.
Seda promotes personal development to allow everyone to not only reach their full potential but also uncover hidden talent and skills. Here at Seda we believe that career development goes hand in hand with our plans to grow as a company and advocate career progression throughout the wider team.
Elen has been a Scientist at Seda for 2 years and has been an integral part of the team carrying out a variety of lab-based projects and drug product consulting for Clients. During her time at Seda, Elen has conducted formulation and analytical work for preclinical and clinical studies for biotech and pharmaceutical companies and developed a specialism in advanced thermal analysis using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
On completing a master’s course in such a highly regarded subject within the pharmaceutical industry, Elen wishes to advance her career and begin to take on more responsibility in progressing drug products from the preclinical stages to first time in human studies. Elen is hoping that by undertaking the PIAT course, she will develop personal and professional skills which will provide her with the confidence and independence to lead her own successful drug development and delivery projects, and ultimately bring new medicines to patients.
